Flash South Regional Teams
BayStateFlash offers competitive teams for 6th-12th grade boys and girls during the Fall and Spring AAU seasons. BayStateFlash teams compete in weekend tournaments against top teams from throughout the New England region. Teams will practice together once each week to learn the read and react offense, offensive quick hitters, man-to-man defense, and zone defenses in preparation for the team’s spring tournament schedule. In addition, spring season participants have access to program-wide clinics each week to develop basketball fundamentals including ball handling under pressure, spacing and timing for passing, shooting on the move and off the dribble, and individual defense.
BayStateFlash offers a developmental program for 4th and 5th grade boys and girls as an introduction to competitive basketball. Participation in AAU athletics has expanded each year with players beginning competitive basketball at earlier ages, often to the detriment of proper skill development. Our 4th and 5th grade teams are designed to introduce players to high level competitive play without sacrificing developmentally appropriate technical and tactical skill acquisition. Developmental teams will practice once each week for the duration of the season to learn team basketball concepts and skills, including the read and react offense, setting and using screens, team man-to-man defense, and spacing, cutting, and timing on offense. Teams will compete in four weekend tournaments against local and regional competition. In addition, 4th and 5th grade players will have access to specially designed clinics each week to develop basketball fundamentals and individual skills, including ball handling, shooting technique, passing, and individual defense and positioning.
